Las Vegas golf has a peak season (October through April) and an off-season (May through September). Peak season demand at Summerlin and Anthem courses means weekend morning tee times (7–9am Saturday/Sunday) require 4–6 days advance booking during October through April. Weekday mornings are almost always available. July and August are the easiest months to get a tee time — temperatures of 100°F+ reduce demand significantly, but early morning rounds (6–8am) are still comfortable by desert standards.
Sun City Summerlin's three courses — especially Eagle Crest's 9-hole par-3 format — provide the best cost-per-round in the market. Eagle Crest is designed for the quick 90-minute round that fits a daily routine rather than a 4-hour commitment. For serious 18-hole golfers, Highland Falls's terrain and Spring Mountain views make it among the more scenic community courses in the Las Vegas market. Revere at Anthem's two 18-hole courses through Black Mountain terrain are higher quality but also higher cost-per-round. Siena's Schmidt-Curley course is championship quality but the most expensive option in the 55+ market.
Trilogy Summerlin, Del Webb Lake Las Vegas, Solera, MacDonald Ranch, and Ardiente have no on-site golf. Residents who want to golf use the dozens of Las Vegas public and semi-public courses available throughout the valley — many at competitive rates, particularly on weekdays and in summer. The trade: no 2-minute drive to the first tee, but also no captive-market pricing. For buyers who golf occasionally rather than seriously, the off-site course model can actually be more economical.
