Lindenhurst is a northwest Lake County village near the intersection of Route 45 and Route 132. The area is rural-suburban in character — more open land, less commercial density than central or southern Lake County. Everyday services are available in nearby Gurnee and Waukegan (10–15 minutes south), both with full retail corridors and medical facilities. Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville are the nearest acute care options.

Metra North Central Service runs through nearby Grayslake and Waukegan with service to downtown Chicago in approximately 60–75 minutes. Interstate 94 is accessible via Waukegan for regional travel north toward Milwaukee or south toward Chicago.

The Lake County Forest Preserves maintain trail access throughout the county, with significant preserved land near Lindenhurst.
