Del Webb Cane Bay — Amenities

The Resort at Cane Bay is a 20,000 sq ft facility. It was built by Del Webb and renovated by the resident community that has occupied it since 2007. The amenity inventory — pools, courts, clubs — is comparable to newer communities. The social infrastructure built up over 18 years is not.

The Resort at Cane Bay

The Resort is the community's central amenity facility — 20,000 sq ft built on the community's lagoon system. The renovation upgraded the fitness center, refreshed pool areas, and modernized gathering spaces. Current facilities: heated indoor lap pool, heated outdoor pool with patio and cabanas, state-of-the-art fitness center, aerobics studio, a large ballroom with gourmet kitchen for events, arts and crafts studio, card and activity rooms, billiards, tennis courts, pickleball courts, bocce courts, an events lawn and concert space, a fishing pier on the community lake, and a dog park. A full-time lifestyle director coordinates programming, but the 100+ chartered clubs operate independently — they were organized by residents, not by Pulte.

What 100+ Clubs Actually Means

Del Webb Nexton markets its social calendar. Del Webb Cane Bay has had one since 2007. The clubs were not set up by a lifestyle director at opening — they were formed by residents who moved in, found people with shared interests, and started meeting regularly. Woodworking, painting, ceramics, line dancing, cycling, photography, travel, investment, several pickleball leagues at every skill level, a men's group, a women's group, a garden club, a book club with multiple subgroups. Some clubs have been running for a decade with continuous membership. A buyer who moves into Cane Bay in 2026 is joining an infrastructure that is already built, not helping construct one.

The fishing pier on the community lakeCane Bay's lagoon and wetland system includes a fishing pier accessible to all residents. The community was built around its natural lagoon topography — approximately 40–50% of homes have lagoon views. This is not an add-on amenity; it is baked into the community's physical layout. For residents who fish or simply want to walk to water, Cane Bay's natural setting is more integrated than the pool-and-court campus model that newer communities use.

What Cane Bay Does Not Have

No bar and grill. No expanded gymnasium. The amenity center has not been significantly expanded since the community was built — it was designed for 1,000 homes and those homes are occupied. Pickleball demand has grown faster than the original court count anticipated, which means court time is competitive during peak hours. Buyers who want the newest amenity package in the market should look at Del Webb Nexton's expansion or Four Seasons Cane Bay's 24,000 sq ft lakefront clubhouse. Buyers who want amenities that are fully built, fully staffed, and surrounded by a community that has been using them for 15+ years should look at Cane Bay.

Location Amenities

Cane Bay Plantation has a Publix, pharmacy, and basic retail within the master plan. Downtown Summerville is approximately 11.5 miles. The commercial infrastructure is more limited than Nexton's walkable Town Center — residents drive for most restaurant and shopping needs. Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center are 15–20 minutes.
