What Lely Resort Is

Lely Resort is a 4,506-home master-planned community in east Naples spanning approximately 2,892 acres, developed beginning in the 1980s. It contains dozens of distinct residential neighborhoods — from condominiums to golf-front estate homes — each with its own sub-association, construction vintage, and fee structure. Three golf courses serve the community: the Mustang Course (public-access), the Flamingo Course (semi-private), and the championship Classics Course (private).

The centerpiece amenity is the Players Club & Spa — a 28,000 sq ft resort facility with multiple pools, a full spa, fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, and dining. Players Club membership is separate from any HOA and is required to access this facility. This distinction is the source of most buyer confusion at Lely Resort.

Players Club Membership: Separate, Required for Key Amenities

The Players Club & Spa is not included in any neighborhood's HOA. It operates as a separate private club. Membership is required for access to the resort pools, spa, fitness center, and club amenities. Annual Players Club membership has historically run approximately $3,000–$5,000/year plus food minimums, depending on membership tier. For buyers attracted to Lely's amenity marketing, verify what your HOA actually includes vs what requires a separate Players Club membership. Many buyers discover this distinction after going under contract.

Golf Access at Lely

The three courses have different access structures: the Mustang Course is public-access (pay-to-play for anyone), the Flamingo Course is semi-private (some public tee times plus member access), and the Classics Course is private with full membership. Residents at Lely do not automatically receive golf access based on their HOA. Golf membership is separate from housing regardless of which neighborhood you purchase in.

Neighborhoods and Price Range

Lely's neighborhood diversity is extraordinary. Entry-level condos start under $200K in older buildings. Mid-tier attached villas and single-family homes run $350K–$700K. Estate homes on the Classics Course exceed $2M. The neighborhood you purchase in determines your sub-association fee, construction vintage, HOA coverage, and daily lifestyle experience. Never evaluate Lely Resort based on community-wide averages — evaluate the specific neighborhood and address.

True Monthly Cost
