The Reno-Sparks valley floor sits around 4,500 feet. Summers are hot but dry and cool sharply at night. Winters are cold, with hard freezes, and the valley sees periodic snow — usually light and quick to melt, but real. This is a high-desert four-season climate, not a Sunbelt one.
