Del Webb Point Hope — Amenities

Point Hope's most powerful amenity is not the clubhouse. It is the address. No amount of HOA investment at any Summerville community buys you 20-minute beach access or a 25-minute drive to downtown Charleston. That is what Point Hope delivers before the first pickleball court is built.

The Location Amenities — What No Clubhouse Provides

Isle of Palms beach: approximately 14 miles, 20 minutes. Sullivan's Island: similar. Downtown Charleston restaurants, arts, and culture: 18 miles, 25–30 minutes. Mount Pleasant Towne Centre shopping and dining: 10–15 minutes. Roper St. Francis Hospital on Daniel Island: approximately 10 minutes. These are the amenities that determine whether you use them daily or seasonally. At Summerville communities, the beach requires a planned half-day excursion. At Point Hope, it requires deciding after breakfast.

The honest comparison to Summerville communitiesDel Webb Nexton's expanding clubhouse — bar and grill, 10+ pickleball courts, gymnasium — is fully built or nearly complete. Del Webb Point Hope's 24,000 sq ft clubhouse exists on a site plan. If amenity availability in the first 1–3 years of ownership matters to you, Nexton or Cane Bay are better choices right now. Point Hope is the right choice if the location advantage outweighs the amenity delay in your specific retirement vision.

Planned Clubhouse — What Del Webb Has Announced

Del Webb has announced a 24,000 sq ft amenity center for Point Hope. Planned facilities include a multipurpose ballroom and event spaces, a full fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor pool with patio and cabanas, a fire pit, tennis courts, pickleball courts, bocce courts, a dog park, and walking and biking trails connecting to the broader Point Hope master plan. A boathouse is included in the plans, reflecting the Cainhoy Peninsula waterfront setting. Completion timeline is estimated with the community's build-out phases — exact dates are not guaranteed.

Point Hope Village Center

The broader Point Hope master plan includes a developing village center with retail, restaurants, cafes, and services. Del Webb residents are positioned within golf cart distance of the village center, mirroring the Nexton Town Center model. The village center is under development concurrently with the residential phases — early buyers will see it materialize around them over 3–5 years.

The Experience Del Webb Program

Del Webb's "Experience Del Webb" program — four days and three nights in a furnished home before purchasing — is available at Nexton and other established Del Webb communities where there is functioning inventory and a resident community to experience. At Point Hope in its early phases, the program may not yet be available. Ask the sales team specifically about stay-and-play options as phases develop.
