An affordable evening out: the Columbia Fireflies

The Fireflies are Columbia's minor league baseball team, and a game at their downtown ballpark is the kind of low-cost, low-effort evening that works well across generations — tickets and parking are noticeably cheaper than a major-league outing, and the atmosphere is casual enough that younger grandkids don't need to sit through nine full innings to have a good time.
Lake Murray: the recreation side of the visit
